Job Summary
Custodian responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and service-ready campus facilities to support instruction, student learning, and campus activities. Duties include routine custodial work, floor care (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, stripping, sealing, finishing, polishing), setup and removal of furniture and equipment for events, operation and maintenance of custodial tools and vehicles, preparing cleaning solutions, reporting maintenance issues, and coordinating with supervisors. Requires a High School diploma or GED, at least 3 years custodial experience, OSHA 10 certification within 90 days, valid Illinois driver’s license, ability to work at heights up to 40 feet, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Typical work environment is indoor campus facilities with potential for evening, weekend, or overtime shifts. Location: Carterville, IL. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of three (3) years of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, institutional, or similar environment
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license
- Must possess or obtain an OSHA 10 certification within ninety (90) days of employment
- Must be able to work at heights of 40 feet or more
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift as part of custodial duties
