Job Summary
Maintain district facilities by cleaning floors, whiteboards, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms according to a daily schedule. Keep school grounds, sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat while complying with local laws for trash disposal. Perform minor building repairs, assist with lunchroom setup, and move furniture as directed. Operate cleaning equipment and heavy tools, including buffers, strippers, and pressure washers, while lifting loads over 45 pounds. Assist in opening and closing the building, checking exit doors and panic bolts, and report unsafe conditions or major repair needs to the Lead Custodian. Work irregular hours and perform duties in extreme temperatures and dusty environments.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and over on a daily basis
- Must be present regularly in person
