Job Summary
Custodian III at Capital Region Airport Commission responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the Airport Terminal and related facilities, supervising and coordinating Custodians in cleaning tasks, collecting trash, cleaning diverse surfaces (ceiling, walls, flooring, upholstery), operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring professional conduct. Role requires supervising, training, and coordinating activities, plus ability to lift and transport heavy items, adapt to day/evening/night shifts, and maintain positive relationships with staff and the public. Requires a valid Virginia driver’s license, a High School diploma or equivalent, and at least three years of supervisory custodial experience in large facilities. The position includes responsibilities to recommend personnel matters to the Environmental Services Supervisor and to facilitate implementation of cleaning techniques as new equipment is introduced.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Virginia Motor Vehicle Operator's License
- Must be able to work day, evening, and night shift
- Must be able to perform manual labor such as lifting a minimum of 30 lbs
- Must be able to perform manual labor such as transporting a minimum of 50 lbs by cart
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in custodial maintenance of large buildings or facilities
