Job Summary
The Custodian II role involves moderately complex custodial work including cleaning, dusting, disinfecting, sanitizing, floor maintenance with equipment (strippers, buffers, vacuums, extractors), restocking supplies, inspecting buildings for cleanliness and repairs, and assisting in minor maintenance. The incumbent may coach other custodians, document work, manage inventory, and participate in agency disaster response/COOP as needed. The position requires ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk on hard floors, work irregular hours, and potentially work evenings/nights/weekends; immunization policy adherence and background checks are required. The location is Rusk State Hospital, with a schedule that may include alternate shift patterns and up to 20% travel; telework is not eligible. The role is full-time, nonexempt, with opportunities for additional pay for evening/night/weekend shifts and maximum-security locations.
Required Qualifications
- Six months work experience required
- Experience in custodial or environmental services work in a nursing home, hospital, residential facility, hotel or other similar residential equivalent preferred.
