Job Summary
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitary conditions of assigned school buildings by cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, and dining areas. Operate commercial equipment including scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums while mopping, vacuuming, stripping, buffing, and waxing floors. Empty trash, clean windows, pick up grounds debris, change light bulbs, replace ceiling tiles, move furniture, and remove graffiti. Secure buildings daily and perform event setup and breakdown. Complete commercial inventory counts, order supplies, and organize the custodial closet. Assist with district emergency and general assignments as operationally necessary. Work a 225-day schedule with potential on-call availability for emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to speak, write, and read English fluently
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds frequently and one (100) pounds occasionally
- Walking, standing, kneeling, bending for eight (8) hours per day
- Must be able to climb a thirty (30) foot ladder and negotiate stairs
- May be on call after normal work hours and in emergency situations (twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week)
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in commercial facility cleaning preferred
- Familiarity with computer applications (Word, Google email) preferred
