Job Summary
Custodian II - Floater handles general cleaning (sweeping, carpet/blind cleaning, waste removal), light fixture maintenance and bulb replacement, yard work including mowing and trimming, snow/ice removal, receiving and storing supplies for the school cafeteria, moving and arranging furniture for school functions, and assisting with additional requests from the building principal and engineer. Requires knowledge of modern cleaning methods, ability to perform minor building repairs, planning and organization of work schedules, physical stamina, ability to operate under various weather conditions, and strong communication skills. Evening shift 2:30pm-11:00pm, Monday through Friday in Cedar Rapids, IA. Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma
- Knowledge of modern cleaning methods
- Ability to perform minor building repairs
- Ability to plan, organize and carry out work schedules
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Must be in excellent physical condition
- Must be able to pass the Physical Capacity Profile tests
- Effective oral and written communications
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work independently
- Aptitude for detail
- Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions
