Job Summary
Custodian II cleans and sanitizes facilities to provide a legendary experience to members, performing duties such as mopping, restroom sanitation, dusting, trash removal, window washing, vacuuming, and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas, assisting and mentoring Custodian I staff, reporting repairs, and ensuring building security. The role requires the ability to follow checklists, work independently, and travel within Lake County to other Crossroad Branches. The position supports a community-focused YMCA organization and requires CPR/AED & First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire and Listen First training. A flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays is required; travel between branches is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16
- Six months or more of related experience
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid, New Employee Orientation
- Must complete Listen First training within designated time
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Must be able to travel within Lake County to other Crossroad Branches
- Must be able to work flexible schedule of nights, weekends, and holidays
