Job Summary
Custodian I (School-Based) responsible for general custodial tasks in school facilities, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, floor refinishing (stripping/waxing/buffing), cleaning restrooms, restocking supplies, and light groundskeeping such as snow/ice removal. Requisitions for cleaning supplies; ability to operate janitorial equipment; must be physically capable of medium-duty work and able to drive a school bus if required. Must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina CDL and a valid driver’s license; strong English communication and ability to follow instructions and maintain records. Reports to the Principal and may assist with minor maintenance and setup for events.
Required Qualifications
- Some experience in custodial work
- CDL license (or eligible to obtain)
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license
- Ability to operate janitorial equipment
- Medium physical work capability
- Ability to drive a school bus (as deemed necessary)
