Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Valid Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS)
• •Minimum one-year successful prior experience in custodial work
• •High School Diploma or GED
• •Pass Custodian Exam at required level of proficiency
• •Ability to perform strenuous physical activity related to custodial duties
• •Ability to work under minimal supervision - be an effective, self-starter
• •Ability to understand and follow both written and oral directions
• •Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• •Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
• •Ability to interface effectively with other departments, school personnel, other maintenance staff, and business contacts from outside of the District
• •Ability to read and comply with labels and OSHA safety warnings on cleaning agents and hazardous materials
• •Ability to maintain a consistent attendance record
• •Ability to complete all mandatory technology and safety training within designated district deadlines
• •Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• •Must be able to stand and talk or hear
• •Must be able to walk and sit
• •Must be able to use hands, arms, and fingers to input data, handle, feel or reach
• •Must have close vision to read handwritten or typed material

• •Must be able to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
• •Must be able to monitor building integrity and address environmental hazards immediately
• •Must be able to document and report safety hazards and vandalism incidents
• •Must be able to manage custodial supplies and digital tools efficiently
• •Must be able to monitor inventory levels accurately
• •Must be able to submit replenishment requests to the Lead Custodian
• •Must be able to resolve minor plumbing and electrical issues within 24 hours
• •Must be able to complete furniture and equipment setups for special events
• •Must be able to maintain a clean, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing environment in all classrooms, offices, and common areas
• •Must be able to complete 100% of daily cleaning checklists
• •Must be able to ensure sanitation levels meet or exceed district health standards
• •Must be able to execute specialized floor maintenance routines
• •Must be able to perform deep-cleaning cycles as scheduled
• •Must be able to safeguard school property and occupants
• •Must be able to ensure zero security breaches resulting from unsecured doors or windows
• •Must be able to work in a moderate to loud noise level
• •Must be able to work in varying temperatures
• •Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• •Must be able to handle different scents
• •Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
