Job Summary
Operate electrical cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, shampoo machines, and high-speed buffers, to maintain an environmentally safe and clean facility. Safely use appropriate chemicals and cleaners while ensuring personal, student, and staff safety. Secure assigned areas daily by locking doors and windows, turning off electrical units, and emptying waste receptacles. Perform physically demanding tasks such as mopping, stripping, waxing, and floor buffing. Respond to emergency situations involving spills, broken windows, or locks. Move furniture and equipment, change light bulbs, and assist with conference setups. Report equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance on custodial tools.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or State Approved High School Equivalency
- Four (4) years of supervisory skills and experience demonstrating ability to safely and effectively operate standard facility custodial equipment
- ability to successfully complete the Custodial Maintenance Program
- ability to train staff members
- ability to fulfill the physical requirements
