Job Summary
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness of the school building and grounds. Reports to the Head Custodian with direction from the Supervisor of Building and Grounds and/or the Business Administrator/Board Secretary. The role requires maintaining facilities per contract, has a 11am–7:30pm shift, and necessitates a high school diploma or equivalent, valid NJ driver’s license, Black Seal license, ability to read and write reports, good health, and successful criminal history clearance. Experience in custodial service and the ability to communicate, attend punctually, and follow instructions are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
- Experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent in custodial service at other institutions and firms
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the basic techniques of custodial service
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Certificate of good health by school doctor
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports
- Ability to communicate with others
- Demonstrate aptitude for completion of assigned tasks
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Black Seal license (One-year time allowance)
- Valid NJ Drivers License
