Job Summary
Perform custodial functions as directed by the Facility Director, maintaining building cleanliness through cleaning, sanitizing, mopping, trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and grounds keeping. Keep grounds safe and pleasing according to seasonal changes while ensuring a secure environment for members and staff. Assist with room set up, breakdown, and snow removal as needed. Evaluate and report health, safety, or cleanliness issues to the supervisor and maintain adequate inventory of custodial supplies. Follow all Association safety standards and policies, including fire suppression inspections. This role supports the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, a nonprofit dedicated to youth development and healthy living across Chester County.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in maintenance or custodial field
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic custodial equipment and functions
- Ability to relate well with staff and public
- Obtain and/or maintain a valid driver's license
- Be willing to alter work schedule to deal with job demands and manage competing priorities
- Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
- Basic computer skills
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
- Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness
