Job Summary
Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office spaces; empty tenant trash and garbage containers; clean snow and debris from sidewalks; pressure wash outside areas; and assist in moving or relocating residents. Notify management of major repairs to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment. Maintain clean and orderly common and living areas with special emphasis on floor care while interacting courteously with residents, managers, and vendors. Perform duties requiring standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using hands to handle objects. Work an eight-hour shift Monday through Friday with every other weekend, with weekends as needed. Relocate to Durham, NC, is required.
Required Qualifications
- Less than high school education
- Several years of related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to regularly stand
- Ability to regularly walk
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to talk or hear
- Ability to occasionally sit
- Ability to taste or smell
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
