Job Summary
Remove garbage from each floor at the beginning and end of the shift by transporting cans to compactors and recycling bins. Clean common area floors including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and waxing, while sanitizing lavatories, wash basins, mirrors, walls, and floors. Complete pre-approved maintenance items and maintain an inventory of supplies. Report any maintenance problems or issues identified during building rounds to the Facility Manager. Perform monthly inspections as requested and respond to residents' concerns with assistance. Coordinate with Facility Managers and Program Managers to ensure issues are addressed timely. This role supports Pioneer Human Services' mission to empower justice-involved individuals toward successful community living across 35+ locations in Washington state.
Required Qualifications
- Current CPR/First AID Certification or within two months of hire
- Must be able to lift and transport garbage cans on wheels
- Must be able to vacuum, sweep, mop, and wax floors
- Must be able to clean and sanitize lavatories, wash basins, mirrors, walls, and floors
- Must be able to complete pre-approved maintenance items
- Must be able to report maintenance problems to the Facility Manager
- Must be able to maintain an inventory of supplies
- Must be able to perform monthly inspections
- Must be able to respond to residents' concerns and provide assistance
- Must be able to coordinate with Facility Managers and Program Managers
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Subject to drug testing during employment, including testing for marijuana
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in janitorial/custodial work
- One-year experience in human services, preferably working with homeless adults, the economically disadvantaged, mentally health disorders or chemically dependent
