Job Summary
Custodian role responsible for cleaning, minor maintenance, lawn/grounds tasks, and setup for district facilities. Duties include sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms, disposing waste, and following a district-wide maintenance program (light bulbs, toilets, ceiling tiles, painting touch-ups, door/window/lock/security checks, and furniture setup). Works independently or as part of a custodial crew, supports facility activities, and may assume duties of Head Custodian in absence. Requires basic English language skills and typically one year of related experience. PM shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM; attendance, safety, teamwork, and professionalism are emphasized, along with adherence to district policies and a uniform dress code.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in large scale housekeeping, custodial, or building and grounds maintenance work
- Must possess basic comprehensive skills of the working English language
- Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Encouraged to complete the Custodial Operations Career Advancement training program through Hillsborough County Public Schools
