Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning of rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and offices while sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, vacuuming carpets, and shampooing upholstery. Perform minor repairs including light painting, replacing light bulbs, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electronic maintenance. Manage lawn care by cutting grass, trimming hedges, and maintaining equipment, while ensuring outside premises remain orderly. Utilize District computer applications for communication and record keeping, and follow safety regulations when using chemicals or moving heavy objects. Report structural damages requiring extensive repairs and maintain compliance with privacy laws and building procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Organizational and management skills
- Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, chemicals, practices, computers, and applications
- Ability to work with equipment and chemicals commonly used in custodial work
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance
