Job Summary
Perform cleaning, minor repairs, lawn care, and routine maintenance duties across rooms, hallways, kitchens, and outdoor areas. Sweep, mop, wax, vacuum, shampoo carpets, dust furniture, remove mildew, and wash windows or outside spaces as needed. Clean air conditioning vents, ductwork, fans, lights, and exhaust hoods in kitchen areas. Make simple repairs including light painting, bulb replacement, and basic carpentry or plumbing. Maintain lawn equipment, trim hedges, and keep premises orderly. Dispose of waste, facilitate recycling, and utilize District computer applications for record keeping. Comply with safety regulations, HIPAA, and other laws regarding privacy and records retention. Use chemicals as trained and report structural damages requiring extensive repairs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Organizational and management skills
- Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, chemicals, practices, computers, and applications
- Ability to work with equipment and chemicals commonly used in custodial work
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance
