Job Summary
Maintain attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities for students, staff, and public by performing custodial duties, including routine cleaning of sports and recreation facilities, bathroom sanitation, and trash disposal. Clean facilities using manual and power equipment, move furniture, and set up or tear down equipment for special events. Address spills and unsafe conditions promptly while reporting hazards, equipment problems, and security issues. Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and changing filters. Work Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, adhering to safety rules and MPS procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- one year of maintenance experience
- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Knowledge of MPS policies and procedures
- Knowledge of materials and equipment used in cleaning and maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in public facilities
- Skill in operating and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Skill in closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers
- A valid North Dakota State Driver's License
