Job Summary
Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant by sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors, washing windows and walls, and emptying trash receptacles. Direct and monitor the work of custodians, providing ongoing training, while accurately maintaining and cleaning custodial equipment. Order supplies, perform minor repairs like replacing light bulbs and moving furniture, and monitor building security and safety systems. Secure the facility as required, handle emergency custodial duties for staff, and report safety hazards or sanitation deviations expeditiously. Work full-time hours from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM with a lead differential, earning a base salary of $19.01 plus $.45/hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write English as pertains to job functions
- Progressively responsible custodial experience
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
- Ability to use a push/pull force of up to 50 pounds for machines
- Ability to lift items of up to 30 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders for cleaning or maintenance
- Ability to stoop, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability
- Ability to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces
- Adherence to the dress code appropriate to the site and job
