Job Summary
Clean and maintain University assets by sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing floors while ensuring custodial closets remain stocked and organized. Dispose of trash and maintain the aesthetic appearance of building entrances. Strip and wax floors as needed, prep resident halls for each semester, and report facility issues to the Facility Maintenance Office. Interact positively with students, faculty, administration, and co-workers. Perform duties in a high-dust environment requiring sound physical condition, protective devices, and extensive safety training. Submit clearances including a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check and Motor Vehicle Report.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to interact with customers (students, faculty, administration), co-workers and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks
- English proficiency
- High School Diploma
- 1 year direct and 2 years indirect experience
- Prior floor care experience
- Valid state driver's license
- Must be in sound physical condition
- Alternative work schedule
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs
- Ability to stand or walk
- Ability to bend, crouching, stooping
- Ability to provide Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
- Ability to provide Motor Vehicle Report
- Ability to provide Physical Lift Examination
