Job Summary
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers, and wash windows. Sanitize restrooms and bathrooms using established procedures while following instructions regarding chemical and supply use. Perform special cleaning operations, including stripping, buffing, and applying floor sealers to hard surfaces, as well as vacuuming and shampooing carpets. Assist in setting up facilities for meetings, classrooms, and events, and help with landscaping and snow removal. Provide security for the building during shifts. This roving position serves secondary school buildings, occasionally covering elementary levels, and operates Monday through Friday from 6 am to 11:45 am.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach and kneel
- Ability to work at heights, ascend and descend ladders
- Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation
- Ability to hear and understand speech
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 pounds
