Job Summary
Maintain cleanliness of the West High School building, premises, and entryways, including classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and outdoor play areas. Clean assigned zones daily according to specified standards, empty trash, refill supplies, and perform deep cleaning tasks like window washing and floor mopping. Regulate HVAC systems, manage deliveries, load/unload supplies, and move furniture or equipment as directed. Perform outside responsibilities such as flag raising, grounds care, snow/ice removal, and graffiti cleanup. Maintain neat personal appearance, wear district uniforms, and report property damage immediately. Assist with building function set-ups, clean up afterward, and ensure the facility is secure. Work the 5:30am to 2:00pm shift with an eight-and-a-half-hour day including a non-paid lunch.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to work in conditions of extreme heat or cold
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (i.e., heat, cold, rain, and snow)
- Ability to assist in shoveling snow when required
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to reach, bend, stand, and walk
- Ability to grasp and use tools
- Ability to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean personal appearance
- Ability to wear district uniforms at all times when performing custodial duties

- Ability to work in AM or PM shift
- Ability to work as dictated by the principal and their designee
- Ability to report immediately to the lead custodian/supervisor
- Ability to perform emergency repairs or cleaning services as needed
- Ability to assist with building function set-up as well as clean up afterward
- Ability to make sure the building is secure after the event has ended
- Ability to maintain custodial tools and equipment
- Ability to load/unload the storage of deliveries and supplies
- Ability to move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities
- Ability to maintain cleanliness of building, premises, and entryways
- Ability to clean classrooms daily in accordance with specified standards
- Ability to clean bathrooms daily in accordance with specified standards
- Ability to clean hallways daily in accordance with specified standards
- Ability to regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Ability to raise and lower cafeteria tables
- Ability to lock/unlock doors in accordance with building requirements
- Ability to perform body fluid clean-up
- Ability to change and install light bulbs and pencil sharpeners
- Ability to raise and lower the United States flag daily
- Ability to keep the grounds free from trash and litter
- Ability to keep the dumpster area clean and locked at all times
- Ability to mow and trim as assigned
- Ability to remove graffiti as needed
- Ability to remove snow/ice
- Ability to maintain play areas to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive environment
- Ability to wash windows
- Ability to attend and participate in any district-required training
