Job Summary
Clean and sanitize restrooms, dust furniture, sweep floors, and empty trash containers. Strip, buff, and apply floor sealers while maintaining assigned power equipment like buffers and high-pressure washers. Lock and unlock buildings, secure facilities, and perform snow removal using hand tools or small power equipment. Launder cleaning supplies, handle recycling, and call work orders. Assist with facility setup for meetings and events, attend safety meetings, and enforce OSHA rules.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or experience in a related field
- Have essential physical and mental capabilities for the job
- Must be able to lift and move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools
- Must be able to use ladders when required
- Must be able to safely operate all vehicles and other job-related equipment
- Must be able to attend safety meetings
- Must be able to take classes in cleaning methods and techniques, new products, First Aid, CPR, and working relationships
- Must be able to handle recycling materials
- Must be able to call in work orders
- Must be able to assist in the instruction and supervision of student help
- Must be able to assist with inventory control and security
- Must be able to support and enforce all policies, university and governmental such as OSHA rules, company health and safety regulations and guidelines
