Job Summary
Custodian role responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all REAL facilities to REAL’s standards, performing heavy cleaning duties (floors, walls, glass), keeping janitorial rooms stocked, and supporting all facilities to provide a healthy, safe environment; casual shifts with no guaranteed hours and location in Regina, SK; requires ability to work in a fast-paced team setting and follow WHMIS and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Grade twelve (12) education is preferred
- Knowledge of WHMIS program and Occupational Health and Safety Standards preferred
- Knowledge/previous experience working with chemicals and janitorial machinery preferred
- Must be able to follow directions and work with minimum supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
- Strong time-management skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to details
- The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs throughout their shift. May lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to remain standing and walk for their entire shift
- May work odd or long hours at a time to complete operational requirements, projects or to participate in or coordinate evening and off-hour activities
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment
- Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement
