Job Summary
Perform daily sweeping, dusting, wet mopping, and floor waxing while maintaining lawns, shrubs, and flower beds to ensure a clean, healthy environment. Strip and buff floors, clean drinking fountains and lavatory fixtures, and empty trash twice daily. Set up and rearrange furniture for staff events, perform minor building repairs like fixing lights and filters, and provide preventative maintenance for tools. Travel to off-site locations as required, demonstrating the physical strength to lift 85 pounds and climb ladders. Maintain safety standards and execute other duties as assigned to support the Agency and Head Start missions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of custodial experience
- Knowledgeable in the use of buffers and vacuums
- Proven ability to work with diverse cultures
- Must respect always
- Must be honest, fair, and consistent
- Must pass O.S.B.I. background check/fingerprinting
- Must meet all work environment standards
- Have no physical restrictions that would preclude the performance of assigned duties
- Must be able to lift 85 pounds
- Must be able to carry 100 feet
- Must be able to move heavy loads
- Must have the strength to stand/walk throughout the workday
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to stoop
- Must be able to kneel
- Must be able to reach
- Must be available for frequent travel to off-site locations
