Job Summary
Dust, mop, vacuum, and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas daily. Operate auto-scrubbers, clean glass, empty trash, and restock supplies. Move furniture, replace light bulbs, and perform minor maintenance as needed. If assigned, clean lunchroom surfaces and handle seasonal projects. Report maintenance concerns to staff. Adapt to shifting duties and work under physical demands including lifting up to 75 lbs. Full-time role up to 40 hours with some second-shift supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Safe driving record
- Ability to use appropriate software programs, such as the work order system
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
- Adaptability to accepting responsibility for the direction, control, or planning of an activity
- Adaptability to dealing with staff, students and administrators during the completion of projects often under difficult conditions
- Adaptability to generalizing, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria
- Ability to communicate effectively with Principal, Teachers, staff and administrators
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to use the Internet to research products, subcontractors and construction techniques
- Ability to utilize computer programs to complete the work
- Intelligence - The ability to understand instructions and underlying principles. Ability to reason and make judgments
- Ability to visualize projects prior to construction based upon documents, drawings, and verbal information
- Verbal - Ability to understand meanings of words and the ideas associated with them
- Numerical - Ability to perform simple arithmetic operations quickly and accurately
- Manual Dexterity - Ability to move the hands easily and manipulate small objects with the fingers. Ability to access areas of construction
- Form Perception - To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures
- Color Discrimination - Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors or shades or other values of the same color
- Willingness to exert the effort to learn these abilities
- Some second shift work as required to supervise and manage the after-hour events
