Job Summary
Clean and service restrooms, sweep and mop floors and stairways, and gather rubbish by hand or with powered equipment. Perform regular rounds of buildings and grounds, inspect doors and windows for security, and report needed repairs or safety hazards. Dust blinds, furniture, and windowsills; polish metal and chrome; maintain inventory of cleaning supplies; and wash walls, ceilings, and windows using ladders. Clean grounds and parking lots of debris. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift 50 pounds unassisted, and stand or walk for extended periods. Requires high school diploma, knowledge of janitorial tools and chemicals, and ability to work without direct supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules
- Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solutions
- Handle basic maintenance, repairs and cleaning
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during shift
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
