Custodian

Conduct complete cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, corridors, public areas, and specialty units including Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, NICU, and CCN. Perform daily cleaning, room turnover, and terminal cleaning while changing cubicle curtains as needed. Manage removal of municipal solid waste, regulated medical waste, soiled linen, and recyclables, and maintain all respective log books. Break down, clean, and disinfect various specialty equipment such as operating tables, and move rolling stock including stretchers and beds. Apply finish or polish to wood and steel surfaces, dust high and low, and clean floors, baseboards, and edges. Follow departmental procedure guidelines and standard precautions for contaminated equipment, including hand hygiene and PPE use. Greet patients and caregivers with scripted communication, maintain flexibility, and collaborate with co-workers in a team environment.
