Job Summary
Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant by sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors and surfaces. Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment while emptying trash receptacles and performing minor repairs like replacing light bulbs. Move furniture and equipment as needed, inspect fire equipment, and report safety or security hazards promptly. Secure the facility by locking and unlocking buildings as required and handle emergency custodial duties for staff. Ensure all areas meet prescribed standards while adhering to district policies and maintaining a positive, professional relationship with students, teachers, and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
- Posession of, or ability to obtain, an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Post-offer physical and drug screening test
- Ability to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces
- Push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines
- Lifting items of various sizes, up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work extended periods of time in extreme temperatures (cold salad/sandwich prep, inventory for freezer & coolers)
- Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable to the job
- Employee must be able to stand constantly and walk frequently
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to perform various stocking, inventory, cleaning or maintenance tasks
- Ability to be subject to travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, workplace restrictions, cold and/or hot temperatures, and loud noises
