Job Summary
Custodian 2nd Shift responsible for providing cleaning and upkeep to create a clean, safe learning environment. Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, kitchens, gyms, libraries and offices; setting up and cleaning after events; basic maintenance and minor repairs; monitoring boiler operation and assisting with security tasks; basic grounds upkeep including snow shoveling and litter removal. Schedule is Monday–Friday with 3:30pm–12:00am hours (hours/breaks may vary) for 5 days per week; extended evening/night/weekend hours may apply. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75–100 pounds occasionally, and to work effectively in a team. Position located at Buffalo High School; environment involves working around dirt, dust, cleaning chemicals, and occasional exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, and heights.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- No previous custodial or other related experience required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75-100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work evening, night, and weekend hours
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Basic mechanical repair abilities
- Team-oriented work environment
