Custodian 2026-2027

Custodian responsible for a broad range of custodial and groundskeeping duties in a school setting. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, hallways, classrooms, offices, cafeteria and other areas; sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces; sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, shampooing and buffing floors and carpets; cleaning windows and walls; moving furniture; restocking supplies; removing trash from grounds; maintaining and performing landscaping tasks; setting up rooms for events; responding to emergency calls or securing buildings; operating cleaning and groundskeeping equipment (floor buffers, scrubbers, carpet cleaners, vacuums, lawn care tools); attending training and professional development; potentially working at other sites and covering staff absences. Requires ability to lift up to 100 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks; interacts with supervisors, staff and students; performs related duties as needed. Training and education section requires a minimum of six months of cleaning/industrial experience; 260-day work year; Florence 1 Schools commitment to non-discrimination.
