Job Summary
Perform daily cleaning and grounds maintenance for school facilities, including sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, disinfecting restrooms, and cleaning windows. Manage campus grounds by mowing grass, trimming shrubbery, raking leaves, and applying de-icing compounds as needed. Open and secure buildings daily, empty trash receptacles, replenish supplies, and maintain inventory. Report major repairs or property damage to the principal and respond to after-hours emergencies. Requires a valid North Carolina driver's license, high school diploma, and ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. This 10- to 12-month custodian role supports Moore County Schools with essential building care and safety duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- General knowledge and experience of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment and the ability to use them economically and efficiently
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
