Job Summary
Custodian position involving general custodial and light groundskeeping duties in school facilities, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and fixtures, replenishing supplies, debris removal, window/wall/desk cleaning, and light maintenance with responsibility for requisitioning cleaning supplies. Requires use of standard janitorial equipment, ability to perform medium physical work, and adherence to safety and policy guidelines. Transport/driver’s license required for duties as assigned; role may include opening/locking buildings and basic setup for events.
Required Qualifications
- Some experience in custodial work
- Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state
- Ability to operate janitorial equipment (vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, etc.)
- Medium physical work capability
- Ability to read simple forms and prepare time sheets/maintenance reports using prescribed format
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
