Job Summary
Maintain district facilities by cleaning floors, dry erase boards, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms according to a set schedule. Perform preventive maintenance, including minor building repairs, regulating HVAC systems, and moving furniture as directed. Assist with lunchroom setup, special events, and opening/closing procedures while inspecting doors, locks, and machinery for safety. Operate cleaning equipment and handle heavy lifting up to 45 pounds daily. Comply with local laws for trash disposal and maintain an inventory of supplies. Work Monday through Friday for 260 days per year in a district environment with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures and chemicals.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and over
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders
- Ability to grasp/squeeze
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to work outside
- Ability to work on slippery or uneven walking surfaces
- Ability to tolerate extreme hot and cold temperatures
