Job Summary
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish offices, restrooms, hallways, and exterior areas while removing trash and restocking cleaning supplies. Set up and break down rooms for events, move furniture and equipment, and inspect facilities for safety hazards or maintenance issues. Lock doors and windows, monitor building safety, and respond to emergency requests, weather events, or facility closures. Operate custodial equipment, apply chemicals per SDS requirements, and remove snow and ice from walkways as needed. Maintain basic records of cleaning and supply usage while following all safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to lift, carry and move items weighing at least 35 pounds to 50 pounds (with or without assistance)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to push and pull custodial equipment such as carts, mops, vacuums, and floor machines
- Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access elevated areas when needed
- Tolerance for exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying indoor/outdoor environmental conditions
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of custodial experience
