Job Summary
Custodial Supervisor (Federal) leads, trains, and supervises custodial staff on a government-operated site; responsible for cleaning operations, safety, compliance, and fostering an inclusive work environment. Responsibilities include supervising custodial tasks (dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, disinfection, glass cleaning), training staff on equipment use, chemicals, PPE, OSHA regulations, and disability-inclusive practices; ensuring safety protocols, and coordinating with contractors. Requires strong leadership, problem-solving, safety and security compliance, and ability to work as essential personnel in varied environments. Certifications in CPR, AED, OSHA training, and related custodial/safety credentials are required; candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to multiple job sites; role emphasizes security-sensitive environment and customer-focused, respectful interaction with staff of varying abilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year in custodial supervision or related management role
- At least 2 years prior custodian experience
- Some experience working with employees of varying degrees of disabilities preferred
- CPR, AED, OSHA training, and any relevant custodial or safety certifications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to get to job site and other job sites as needed
- Ability to walk, stand, lift equipment up to 75 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Security clearance pre-hire screenings and ability to obtain required security access
