Job Summary
Lead daily shift operations by assigning and inspecting custodial and groundskeeping tasks across ten facilities. Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, dining areas, and dorms; sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; empty waste containers; and operate equipment like floor scrubbers and carpet extractors. Maintain lawns, landscaping, and flower beds; mow, edge, trim, and water areas; remove debris from parking lots and sidewalks; and perform seasonal maintenance including leaf removal and snow treatment. Set up seating and dining areas, assist with moving furniture, and support emergency clean-ups following weather events. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged equipment promptly. Follow cleaning schedules and infection control protocols while properly using PPE and handling chemicals per SDS. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and experience in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 3 years' relevant experience
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and equipment
- Basic landscaping and grounds maintenance knowledge
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals according to SDS
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Excellent customer service and communication
- Dependable with strong work ethic
- Must possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach for extended periods
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather
- Operate power equipment and hand tools safely
- Individuals must be able to work with limited supervision
- Embrace a fast-paced environment
- Be comfortable de-escalating behaviors with diverse individuals including persons with mental illness and substance use issues
Desired Qualifications
- Leadership experience preferred
- Nonprofit, shelter, healthcare, or hospitality experience is a plus
