Custodial Caretaker

Custodial Caretaker supports Spirit Rock events, classes, and retreats by performing housekeeping and custodial duties across campus, including dormitories, meditation halls, offices, restrooms, kitchen and dining areas. Responsibilities include opening/closing onsite retreats, maintaining an attractive and sanitary environment, using cleaning supplies and equipment, managing inventory of supplies, lifting and delivering items (e.g., linens, furniture), training guests on cleaning tasks during retreats, setting up event spaces (chairs and cushions), and handling mail delivery to/from Woodacre post-office. Requires 1–3 years of similar experience, knowledge of custodial equipment, independent work with teamwork, computer proficiency (Windows OS/MS Office/Google Docs), and a valid driver’s license. Physical duties include outdoor work, standing/walking for extended periods, stairs, ladders, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Hours are on an as-needed basis and typically less than 19 hours per week; compensation is $22–$24 per hour; benefits include EAP, paid sick time, retreat discounts, and equal opportunity employment.
