Job Summary
Custodial Associate for the Museum facilities responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including cleaning windows, floors, carpets, walls, restrooms, and common areas; operate cleaning equipment safely, set up safety signs, assist with events, and maintain stocked work areas. Requires 2+ years in custodial/facilities operations, a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of cleaning methods and safety/PPE, ability to work PM shift, and willingness to work weekends/holidays. The role is union-represented and based at the Los Angeles Academy Museum in LA, CA on a full-time, non-exempt basis.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
- 2+ years’ experience in facilities operations or custodial services required.
- Knowledge of modern cleaning methods for floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, and restrooms.
- Knowledge of appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
- Knowledge of appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when cleaning and handling bio-hard materials and/or chemicals.
