Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of public and non-public areas including offices, galleries, staircases, elevators, and sidewalks using manual and mechanical equipment. Remove gum, shampoo floors, wash glass walls, clean curtains, polish furniture, and operate elevators while adhering to safety procedures and wearing required PPE. Document work performed, inspections, and equipment conditions through the institution's work order system. Identify and promptly report unsafe conditions, leaks, or maintenance issues to the Operations, Engineering & Facilities Department. Assist Public Safety Captains and Supervising Museum Maintainers as a safety liaison. This temporary, full-time role operates Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, with occasional overtime and weekend hours. Candidates must meet physical requirements for medium labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and hold or obtain OSHA 10-Hour certification.
Required Qualifications
- Able to meet medical and physical requirements which allow for the performance of medium labor and cleaning
- Ability to lift and transport heavy items, up to 50 pounds
- Candidates are expected to hold an OSHA 10-Hour certification

- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite strongly preferred
