Job Summary
Curriculum Specialist for K-12 Social Studies, Health and Physical Education, Family Life and Driver Education in Culpeper County Public Schools provides instructional leadership and support to teachers, staff, and administrators; designs, develops, pilots, implements, and evaluates programs related to the content areas; coordinates curriculum content, standards, and state reporting; delivers coaching, workshops, and staff development; collaborates with principals, counselors, and administrators; ensures compliance with Virginia Standards of Learning, CPR/AED/First Aid requirements, Title IX, and related directives; maintains division websites and coordinates field trips and assessments; travels to schools throughout the division and supports ongoing professional development for educators.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a Virginia teaching license and be highly qualified
- Master’s degree or doctoral degree preferably in Educational Leadership
- Have successful classroom teaching experience (secondary and/or social studies preferred)
- Have knowledge of content areas for which the applicant is applying
- Possess leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working successfully with staff members and parents
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience
