Job Summary
Control Manager – Asia CEM Trading – Associate oversees and governs the control environment, facilitates Front Office supervision, and prepares the business for regulatory exams and audits. Identifies control gaps, implements firm-wide policies, and manages operational risk, working closely with risk and control experts across the region. Serves as a trusted control advisor to the Front Office within the controls space, represents Front Office interests in control and regulatory initiatives, executes and implements business controls priorities and strategy, drives control agenda across functional risks, oversees front office supervisory management and execution, implements and reports on control and risk governance, evaluates and analyzes the business’ risk and control environment, identifies significant gaps and root causes of control breaks, executes ad hoc analytical requests and projects, and prepares the business for controls audits and regulatory exams. Reviews incidents with stakeholders to agree on root causes and deliver remedial actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related disciplines
- Minimum 5+ years of Investment Banking (Markets Business) or Finance sector experience
- Good understanding of markets and trading products
- Strong attention to detail and investigative mindset
- Strong understanding of controls and their application to different processes and businesses (design and evaluation)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and process re-engineering skills
- Excellent communication, partnering, and influencing skills
- Ability to independently lead initiatives with exposure to senior Business stakeholders
- Good organizational skills, able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Experience in a global financial institution (preferred)
- Prior exposure to regulatory exams and audits (preferred)
- Familiarity with Asia markets and regulatory landscape (preferred)
