Job Summary
Currencies & Emerging Markets Trading Assistant supports senior traders on a front-office trading desk in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The role involves supporting day-to-day client requests, coordinating communications across partners, monitoring market drivers and cross-asset implications, assisting in risk management and end-to-end trade execution, performing pre-trade analysis, ensuring post-trade accuracy and controls, applying applicable legal/regulatory risk policies, and contributing ideas to help the team succeed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in relevant banking or financial industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- Strong interest in global financial markets and understanding of global market processes
- Ability to explain fundamental and technical aspects of traded products and related support functions
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages verbally and in writing and defend the validity of ideas
- Demonstrable proficiency with market and product terminology
- Understanding of product pricing, models, and quantitative frameworks relevant to the desk’s products
- Understanding of the transaction lifecycle, including direct costs of execution and post-trade steps, with a strong execution mindset
- Understanding of different risk types and approaches to managing risk, and ability to anticipate market movements
- Ability to perform under competitive pressure while staying focused on client needs and interacting comfortably with clients and management
