Job Summary
Track culture data, manage attendance records, and coordinate parent communications regarding behavioral policies and interventions. De-escalate student situations through direct conversations, mediations, and supervision during arrival, dismissal, and lunch. Assist the dean and operations team by organizing assemblies, scheduling events, distributing materials, and monitoring detention or extracurricular activities. Maintain accurate student information records while collaborating across the Explore Schools network to dismantle white supremacy culture. Ensure student safety and uphold all dean's office systems within a 45-hour workweek in Brooklyn. Engage in identity work and relationship-building to support culturally responsive pedagogy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- Prior related experience, preferred
- Spanish or Haitian Creole fluency, a plus
- Familiarity with Crown Heights, Canarsie, or Flatbush neighborhoods, a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Dedicated to working in communities that have historically been underserved and under-resourced
- Committed to thoughtfully engaging in identity work necessary to take a culturally responsive approach to pedagogy and relationship-building with students and colleagues
- A willingness to go above and beyond to support our mission
- Strong technical computer skills

- In-person work is required
- This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime
- The standard workweek is 45 hours, though at times you may work more
- For non-exempt roles, employees are eligible for overtime for any work over 40 hours
- This role requires that you be able to stand for at least 5 hours a day
- take multiple trips up and down the stairs in a day
- be able to move quickly in an emergency
- This role also requires that you be able to lift up to 15 pounds
