Job Summary
Cultural Resources Field Technician/Crew Chief sought to support Phase I/II/III archaeology field studies and related cultural resources work for federal agencies and state/local governments in the Mid-Atlantic region. Responsibilities include field studies, artifact analysis, data recording, mapping, note-taking, photography, and technical writing; occasional extended travel (1–3 weeks) to project sites with per-diem and mileage reimbursed per US GSA rates. The role requires outdoor work across seasons, manual labor (digging with hand tools, lifting, sorting materials, hiking), and proficiency with computers and standard software. Qualifications include an undergraduate degree in a related field (master’s preferred), willingness to travel, eligibility to work in the U.S., ability to pass a background check, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge in conducting archaeology field studies
- Undergraduate degree related to cultural resources (a master’s degree is a plus)
- Availability for frequent travel in the U.S.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. (DHS Form I-9 and E-Verify)
- Submit to a background check as a condition of final offer
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Illustrator is a plus
- GPS and GIS experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
