Job Summary

Oversee kitchen operations and assist with dish preparation while managing staff during shifts to ensure adherence to food safety regulations. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment through pre and post shift cleaning of equipment and storage areas. Prepare task lists for service, supervise food deliveries for quality control, and work any food station with high competency. Train new employees on knife skills and equipment operation, including ovens and grills. Report issues with food products or equipment to the Chef or Sous Chef. Interact with guests during service to correct issues and relay their comments to management.

Required Qualifications

  • Culinary school graduate
  • 3 years of progressive experience in a professional kitchen
  • Prior work experience in a variety of commercial/professional kitchen
  • Proficient knowledge in guest service
  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of cooking techniques to include baking, broiling, grilling, sauté, roasting, blanching
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar computer programs
  • Capable of making sound judgments in fast-paced or emergency situations
  • Ability to lead and manager others
  • Ability to train and develop others
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance

Desired Qualifications

  • ServSafe or similar food safety course certification
