Job Summary

Prepare and serve large-scale meals in the field and at home stations for Soldiers during training or missions. Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam, and sauté according to Army recipes while operating, maintaining, and cleaning field kitchen equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment and ensure the kitchen remains safe and sanitary. Order and inspect food supplies. Maintain height/weight standards and pass the ASVAB with an 85 score in Operators & Food. Complete 10 weeks of Basic Training and 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have an interest in joining the Army
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
  • 17 to 34 years old
  • Healthy and in good physical condition
  • In good moral standing with no felony-level offenses
  • Must be able to meet height/weight standards
  • No major medical procedures that would prohibit you from service
  • No tattoos on the hands, neck, or face
  • Pass (ASVAB)
  • 10 weeks of Basic Training
  • 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
  • 85ASVAB Score: Operators & Food (OF)
