Job Summary
Serve guests in the dining room and manage point of sales and reservations systems to support restaurant and bakeshop operations. Take orders, serve food and drinks, and clear tables while assisting with retail, community workshops, charity events, and weekend coverage. Maintain a valid driver's license in good standing for jobs requiring driving and perform other duties as requested. This part-time role requires availability on Thursday evenings and Friday mornings for 15-20 hours per week. Candidates must be current enrolled and active students at Sussex County Community College with prior hospitality experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available Thursday evenings and Friday mornings
- 15-20 hours per week
- Current enrolled and active student at Sussex County Community College
- Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional manner
- Demonstrate ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English at a level that meets the need for clear and effective communication
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility around the kitchen labs, storage areas and dining room for periods of up to five hours in length
- Ability to provide exceptional guest experiences
- Demonstrate ability to tolerate demanding workloads effectively under stress and maintain professional composure in a variety of scenarios
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 35lbs comfortably
- Ability to work with a broad spectrum of students found in a community college environment with emphasis on student mentorship and retention
- Ability to exercise good judgment concerning College policies and procedures
- Maintaining a valid driver's license in good standing with DMV for those jobs that require driving
- 365 days within which to establish a primary residence in NJ
