Job Summary
Serve food and beverages to residents, navigate menus, and describe featured items while taking accurate orders via the point-of-sale system. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in dining and kitchen areas, receive and rotate groceries, and detect or report safety hazards and resident symptoms. Complete required training and certification, including food handler's certificate, and communicate verbally with residents, families, and co-workers. Work under close supervision performing routine tasks while moving equipment and standing over 75% of the shift. Required Qualifications
- Possesses great guest relations and communication skills
- Be able to navigate through the menu and describe featured menu items
- Demonstrate extensive menu knowledge
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Be able to send orders to the kitchen accurately via the point-of-sale system
- Partner with all associates to serve food and beverages promptly
- Completes and meets required training and certification requirements of Buckner and governing authorities
- e.g. food handler's certificate
- Requires ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English
- Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
- Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others
- Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions
- Requires ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects
- Requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, walk over 75% of shift
