Job Summary
As a Culinary Lead, FT at Sur La Table, you will inspire customers throughout their culinary journey by combining culinary expertise, business acumen, and teaching skills. You will support the culinary program, drive sales, deliver an exceptional in-store cooking-class and teaching experience, and help build and manage a high-performing culinary team. Key duties include recruiting, training, and developing staff; coaching to uphold a positive team culture; representing the brand to create memorable, educational experiences; increasing foot traffic and engagement through classes and private events; driving culinary and retail sales through strategic execution; ensuring food safety, proper inventory management, and compliance with wage-hour laws; and maintaining SOPs and standards while managing kitchen operations and class schedules. Qualifications include 21+ years of age, a culinary arts degree (preferred) or extensive culinary experience with demonstrated proficiency, 1-2 years of kitchen management experience, and a valid Food Manager Certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail systems is a plus, with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
- A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 1-2 years of progressively responsible kitchen management experience.
- Valid Food Manager Certification.
